Year 5 trip to Temple Newsam
Year 5 had a fantastic trip to Temple Newsam! The day was started in the grand hall in which children made a timeline of owners of the house. Children showed off their knowledge of our Tudors topic by answering some very tricky questions.
The children then took part in two different workshops. One was entitled ‘Dress to Impress’ and the other, ‘Tudor Portraits’. In Dress to Impress children had the opportunity to dress in Tudor clothing and they even learnt a Tudor dance.
When the children went to the Tudor Portraits workshop, one of the children dressed as Elizabeth I and the other sketched her. They then made a collage from different materials of Henry VIII. A brilliant time was had by all and the children’s behaviour was exemplary.
