Kestrels go Capacity Crazy!
Kestrel’s class had a brilliant time investigating what capacity meant and how we can measure it. We thought the best way to learn is to do so we had lots of time to try different ways of filling up different items to see how much water they could hold. We enjoyed comparing and contrasting each object. Predicting how much they would hold and then testing it to see if we predicted correctly.
We began to solve problems posed by proving it with the equipment in front of us Jia was able to estimate how much more water on containers would hold than another and Ana noticed that just because a container is tall doesn’t mean it will have a larger capacity.
Mr. Phillips was delighted to see the amount of excellent teamwork and collaboration in this lesson. A success!
