Throughout school, the children have been learning about harvest time and what this means. KS1 wrote about the the types of food, people and things in nature that they are thankful for. Children in our KS2 classes also researched food banks, Water Aid and Fairtrade.
We then held a Harvest Assembly where we all came together to share what we had learnt. Children and their families also brought along food items to donate to our Harvest food drive.
The children made us all feel very proud when presenting their ideas and singing some wonderful harvest songs at Harvest Assembly, which was well attended by parents and carers as well as key community members.
We would like to say a big thank you for all your very generous food donations. It was overwhelming to see how much food was donated, and see such kind actions from our school community.
These donations are soon to be delivered to St Cyprian’s Community Food Bank in Harehills, to help those who need it most.
