World Book Day at Nightingale – Inspired by The Red Prince

What a day at Co-op Academy Nightingale! Inspired by a fantastic book chosen by one of our Year 1 Teachers, Mrs. Tanday. The whole school engaged in activities from Art to Story Writing across the day all based on the same book. It was incredible to see children of all ages loving learning a new story and all taking different meaning from it.

Across school Teachers and some children enjoyed sharing their favourite stories with each other

Check out the picture of our children all dressed in Red in tribute to the Red Prince, who is the main character in the story!

Year 4 took the story and gave their own spin on it by adapting it and writing their own!

Year 6 spent all morning exploring the illustrations within the Red Prince, we discussed light and dark, scale and perspective before recreating some of the illustrations using Oil Pastilles, the day was filled with Mr. Phillips and Mr. Myers sharing some picture books with their classes. Never too old for a picture book!
