This half term the children have been learning about the human and physical features at a UK coastline. We have studied physical processes which affect coastlines including coastal erosion. We went to Filey Beach to see these features and processes up close! The children absolutely loved being at the beach and understanding the geography which we had been learning in the classroom. We gathered data around tourism and the impact that this has upon the beach and discussed this issue at Filey. We also looked for specific defences present to protect the coastline. The year 6 children were absolute role models and members of the public commented on their brilliant behaviour! Well done year 6!
