Year 2 headed out on a trip to the Thackray Museum. Prior to heading out we had a class discussion around tourism in Leeds and human features that we would notice in the city. We talked about our location at school and the availability of a local museum - The Thackray Medical Museum. We talked about what people would visit the museum for and decided that some people would want to find out about what Leeds was like in the past and some people might want to know about changes in medicine. We noted that the Thackray is a Museum slightly out of the City and people may travel there as a tourist attraction of Leeds. We further talked about tourists using bus links from the city centre to get to the museum.  When we returned to school we talked about what we had looked at and seen at the museum and how this human feature of Leeds would attract tourists. We began to think about what there might be in Shanghai which would fall into the same type of category of tourist attractions.
