In Year 4, we have started learning about states of matter. To explore solids and liquids, we created Oobleck which is a suspension of cornstarch and water. It will behave like a solid or a liquid depending on how much pressure you apply. If you grab some in your hand, it will form a solid ball in your palm until you release the pressure then it will flow out between your fingers. The children loved learning by doing in this session, and will continue to have lots of opportunities to learn kinetically throughout the year.
